Terry Raxon a middle ranking British Intelligence Officer is working on a case involving high class forgeries of American ten dollar bills. By chance he uncovers a deadly plot to import, construct and plant a number of dirty bombs, some to be laced with anthrax.

He is up against a group formed from a number of students from Oxford University, known as the Apostles. Three of these are now in their forties and are connected by their link to the original Apostles. All have deadly grudges against Britain and the United States. Raxon must find where the materials are coming in and who the bomb maker is. One of the Apostles, Taylor, has committed most of the information to a laptop computer. This laptop is in a case that has been mistakenly taken by his ex-wife. If he finds her, he intends to kill her. Another Apostle, Carter, is a disgraced ex-Army full colonel. It is his knowledge that makes the plot both viable and dangerous. The third Apostle is working as an FBI agent and the Pentagon is on his hit list.

There is a race against time as to who retrieves the case first. Will it be Raxon or Taylor? Can Kelly, Raxon’s girl friend, decipher the chess pieces puzzle?

Raxon discovers that the targets will be London and Washington. London trembles. He is given the order to act with lethal intent, to prevent the attacks at all costs and to kill if necessary.
